The basic ingredients of the shared values and “common sense” thinking within our community include acting with integrity and within the law, while being honest, polite, considerate, respectful, collaborative and pragmatic.
Additionally, all users must uphold the GMC’s Good Medical Practice guidelines, as this represents the professional standards required of all designated MRCS surgeons.

The below is an extract from the GMC’s document and outlines the duties of a doctor registered with the GMC:
Patients must be able to trust doctors with their lives and health. To justify that trust you must show respect for human life and make sure your practice meets the standards expected of you in four domains.
Knowledge, skills and performance
Safety and quality
Communication, partnership and teamwork
Maintaining trust
You are personally accountable for your professional practice and must always be prepared to justify your decisions and actions.
