How will damage to the external laryngeal nerve present?


- It could present with a change in the patient’s voice, in particular with monotonous speech.

- This is because the cricothyroid muscle, supplied by the external laryngeal nerve, is responsible for increasing the tension of the vocal cords to create a higher pitch.
