At what vertebral level is the thyroid cartilage?


- C4

- The hyoid bone lies at C3, the thyroid cartilage lies at C4 and the cricoid cartilage is at C6.

- This helps you to remember that the hyoid is a 3rd arch derivative, the thyroid cartilage is a 4th arch derivative, and the cricoid cartilage a 6th arch derivative.
