What is the operative mortality of AAA repair?


- For an elective non-ruptured AAA, mortality is around 3-5%.

- Usually due to intraoperative rupture, or subsequent myocardial infarction, renal failure or infection.

- 50% of ruptured AAAs don’t reach hospital, and of those operated on, there is a 50% mortality.
